Wahoo!
Report: They are here! Wahoo are a highly sought-after game fish in the Riviera Maya due to their aggressive strikes and delicious meat. While they can be caught year-round, the best time to target Wahoo is during the cooler months, from November to March. During this period, water temperatures drop, and Wahoo tend to congregate in larger schools, making them easier to find and catch. Let's go for it!

All day action
Report: Although the weather has not been perfect, with cloudy skies and rain showers common through the week, we were out at sea almost every day and had a lot of fun! On this 6-hour private fishing charter we managed to hook 5 barracuda, 1 wahoo, 1 yellowtail kingfish and 1 bonito. A fantastic catch that had everyone in the group see some action. Despite this being a slower season for fishing, we have still managed to find the fish.

Hard work, big fish
Report: While we have been out fishing most days of this month, we haven't published any reports lately. Here's one where we managed to hook a really good-looking wahoo, which is a great fish for grilling because it's firm and meaty, making it less likely to fall apart on the grill. Try marinating it with a combination of olive oil, lime juice, garlic, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. After grilling serve with lime wedges. Wahoo can dry out quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. It's best served medium-rare to medium. One of our favorite recipes!

Before Hurricane Helene
Report: We managed to squeeze in a trip just before Hurricane Helene started forming literally over the Riviera Maya. Absolutely killed it and pulled over 40 Mahi Mahi on board! Even though we are in low season for predatory species, thanks to our hardworking crew at Pescado Adventures, we still manage to get on top of them sometimes.

Mahi Mahi madness
Report: Another awesome day out on the Mexican Caribbean. Weather and sea conditions were just right, in fact, August has been the first month in the entire year that we have not had to cancel trips due to weather! This has been fantastic news for us who like to fish, as calm seas mean that no one felts uncomfortable on the water. An atypical month but perfect for us. :) And just when we thought the season would slow down, Mahi Mahi were jumping out of the water again. This meant that our Pescado Adventures crew could prepare some delicious, fresh ceviche to enjoy after hours of tight lines.
